Plumbox are the best
Our CO2 detector went of a number of times during the night so of course we were worried. I called Plumbox in the morning and the gas engineer arrived before lunch. They check everything including the boiler and took readings which didn't show anything so they checked the detector and found that it had expired.

Plumbox have just installed a new boiler for us and carried out a complete refurbishment of our cloakroom - new fittings, floor and wall tiles. They made everything as easy as possible for us, and all the work was completed to a very high standard. The two plumbers, Adam and Kai, were extremely reliable, respectful and friendly.

Installed a new whole central heating system (gas pipes, combi boiler, radiator), gas cooker and outside water taps. Really happy with the service and information throughout the process from quote to completion. Michael is very responsive and get in touch with us the whole time.
The fact I like most is that it's easier to get in touch with him (who is in charge) directly and customise your needs even in the middle of the installation, unlike big companies where you ask a question and it takes ages to get back and you only speak to the admin/receptionist and cannot speak directly to the person in charge. You can ask questions and opinions from him. They will explain to you which is most suitable for your needs. During the installation, we requested to upgrade one of the radiators, and install an outside tap at the front of the house, which was done quickly. We also requested to customise the combi boiler and flue location and the way it is attached to the wall and also to upgrade the wireless control to Google Nest, which Michael agreed to do it straightaway.
Price wise, the quote is very reasonable compared to others and the radiators used are of good quality. You will know if you shop around and ask quote from others.
The installation time is great although it took just one more day than expected. But this is due to the fact that they are installing a whole new system (not just replacing old rads or boiler). They explained that they want to get it right in the first place rather than rushing to finish it, and then homeowner faces with issues later down the line. I prefer this way and I can see his whole team is doing their best. When I am writing this review, it's almost 3 weeks since completion. And I don't see any issue like leaks or gas smell or such.
They took extra care during the installation to control dirts and dusts like laying plastic sheets throughout, covering items as needed, vaccuming at the end of each day, etc. They cleared everything after completion including the old hot water tank, loft cold water tank and all old pipes.

As a retired surveyor, I have been experiencing great difficulties in finding suitable plumbing, heating and maintenance engineers, since my return from York, six years ago.
These included national and local tradesmen, who generally didn't seem to want my business.
They often didn't repond to my calls, sometimes ignoring them completely, or just not completing their work. satisfactorily.
Having employed Plumbox for the first time, and servicing my boiler successfully, I am hopeful that I do not have to look further for an engineer.

I am glad to wholeheartedly recommend Mr Michael Thomass PLUMBOX, the local Cambridgeshire boiler & plumbing company who in October 2023 fitted an excellent new boiler and did much else besides so as to get my heating-system running like Swiss clockwork in my 1980s four-bedroomed home here in Newnham.
Director Mr Thomas phoned up & came to evaluate my needs for a new boiler within hours of my enquiry, and then his expert Engineer Mr Dan Cutts, fitted it. Dan was a pleasure to have around the house for his cheerful focus on his work that he clearly took satisfaction in doing thoroughly, and all I had to do was fuel him with an occasional cup of coffee and shortbread biscuits. If a new boiler is going to work at its best and the warranty hold good, it benefits from the system flush-through and other sundry works to boiler-piping and flue, particularly on older kit and all these works were included within the quotea quote that was very fair and competitive with other firms [other firms who were far less impressive in their going about a quote]; and let me emphasis that Plumbox was a FAR more attractive option than the impersonal goliath of British Gas. So, if you want old school trustworthy and cheerful pride in their work, then I warmly encourage you to invite a visit from Plumbox.

We needed to have a new central heating boiler installed due to the complete breakdown of our previous one. We selected Plumbox based on three key criteria: we wanted a supplier who was accredited for the boilers we were considering, preferably local as we believe in supporting local businesses and one that had good trusted reviews. Plumbox were contacted and came to see us promptly to look at our system and discus our needs. This was done and a quote provided soon afterwards, along with prospective start date and completion times. For comparison purposes we did get other quotes but having considered them all we decided to proceed with Plumbox. We admit that the fact they could complete the installation without delay helped.
An installation date and start time of 08.00 was agreed. It was good to see that the team arrived exactly on time and proceeded with the installation efficiently, cleanly and without delay. All went well, the friendly team showing great respect for our home and answering questions regarding the installation as they proceeded. By mid-afternoon the new boiler was installed and commissioned with the warm water proceeding to keep us warm again. Instructions on using the new boiler were given and a follow up visit arranged to hand over paper work relevant to the installation and to answer any questions.
Overall we were completely satisfied and can wholeheartedly recommend Plumbox.

I had an issue with my boiler (not an emergency, minor leakage). I have contacted Michael who was able to come the following week and fixed the problem during his visit. He has professional and efficient in addressing the issue. As landlord, I appreciated that he liaised with my tenant to let them know when he was planning to come. Michael maintained a clear communication with me, from beginning to end I am very satisfied with Michael, I highly recommend!

Such a brilliant, trustworthy team. Friendly guys who explained everything without jargon so I knew what was going to be done. They fit us in when our boiler broke an hour into moving into our new house. They were efficient, neat and tidy. They did a brilliant job on the bits that others can be slapdash on (bricking up the wall and filling in holes) and worked really hard on it all. Such a positive experience and will 100% be using them again when needed.
